AAR breaks ground at Chicago-Rockford International Airport

Posted on Dec 17, 2014

Work is underway on a 200,000 square foot maintenance, repair and overhaul facility (MRO) operated by AAR Corporation, that will bring between 500 and 1,000 jobs to the Chicago-Rockford International Airport in 2016.  In response to that need for aircraft and powerplant technicians, Rock Valley College is expanding its highly respected aviation maintenance technology program.  In fact, work is underway right next to the AAR facility on a brand-new 40,000 square foot facility to house RVC’s program.  The new hangar and classrooms will be open for the start of classes this coming fall semester in August 2015.

Rock Valley College President Mike Mastroianni took part in the AAR groundbreaking ceremony also attended by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and Illinois Senator Dick Durbin.
