Title: Sign Language interpreter
Tell us a little about your job at RVC.
I provide a communication link for students to interact with faculty, staff and other students anywhere that correspondence is needed on campus. In other words, a full-time, multi-tasking, interrelation, facilitating ninja.
What inspires you?
I adore humor, gentleness, wisdom and calm understanding.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to paint, play with my three cats, attend and perform in plays and musicals, dine out, enjoy an annual trip to Daytona Beach with my sister (Lisa Alexander) to see my Grandma, my cousin, and my Aunt, and spend time with my family.
What was your very first job?
I assisted a root canal procedure with my Father who is a dentist. It probably wasn’t legal.
Who are your role models?
There are so many. To name a few: the instructors from my Interpreter Training Program, people who run animal shelters, and my family.

I am a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the Water Cooler Coolest Club on Campus in the break room on the ground floor of the Student Center.
Where is your favorite place to go at RVC?
Starlight! Starlight! Starlight! Oh, and the PAR.
What is your favorite quote or words to live by?
A good listener is a silent flatterer. ~ Spanish Proverb.

Not everyone can be famous but everyone can be great.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
It’s hard to pick the best but I’m sure it was something from my Mom.
What’s the last good book you’ve read?
Wesley the Owl: The Remarkable Love Story of an Owl and His Girl
What’s the last good movie you have seen?
Beauty and the Beast
What is your favorite TV show to binge watch?
Say Yes to the Dress and Friends (while I work out because they’ll be there for me).
Who is your favorite musician, group or band?
Sarah Bareilles and Luciano Pavarotti
What is your favorite thing to eat?
Anything with fat. And popcorn.
Where do you like to go or what do you like to do when you have a long weekend?
Either a lake get away or work on a painting.
What might surprise people to learn about you?
I met Gorbachev when he came to the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago (where I was working). And Helen Hunt and I bought each other drinks.

What has been your biggest personal challenge?
Learning a second language
What’s the next big thing coming up in your life that you are looking forward to?
Seeing Hamilton in two days. Also, I am turning 50 years earned in June.
