Welcome to our “Get to Know Me” feature for RVC employees! Today we are going to get to know Tim Sandquist.

Department: Athletics


Tell us a little about your job at RVC.

I am the Head Men’s Basketball Coach here at The Rock. I’m responsible for scheduling, practice planning and anything that involves the Men’s Basketball program!


What motivates or inspires you?

Just to the be the very best at what I do and to try to improve on a daily basis.


What scares you?

I hate heights.


What do you like to do for fun?

Golf, going to sporting events.


What was your very first job?

Groundcrew for the Omaha Royals, Triple A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.


Who are your role models?

My parents and I’ve been lucky to have a few good mentors in my professional career.

Do your job and stay in your lane.

RVC Employee Handbook of course.


What’s the last good movie you have seen?

Whatever I can find on Netflix.


What is your favorite TV show to binge watch?



What was the first concert you ever attended and what is the most recent concert you have attended?

Not a big concert guy.


Who is your celebrity crush?

It changes on the regular.


Where is your favorite place to eat?

Buffalo Wild Wings.


Where do you like to go or what do you like to do when you have a long weekend?

The lake.


What is your biggest pet peeve?

Drivers who hang out in the left lane.


What might surprise people to learn about you?

I’ve survived a tornado.


What’s the next big thing coming up in your life that you are looking forward to?

Year one in charge of the RVC Men’s Basketball program!
