Welcome to our “Get to Know Me” feature for RVC employees! Today we are going to get to know Caitlyn Steiner.

 Title: HR Generalist

Department:  Human Resources

Tell us about your job at RVC.

Being the generalist, I take care of many different aspects of HR, including recruiting, new hire orientations, 90-day reviews, temporary employees, and many other miscellaneous duties      

What motivates or inspires you?    

Anyone who has a good, positive story to tell me.        

What scares you?    

Oceans and lakes. I hate not knowing what is under me while I’m swimming!        

What do you like to do for fun?    

I like reading a good book with a big cup of coffee, hanging out with   friends, doing anything outdoors (even in the snow), and anything   involving animals (especially my hamster, Peanut).        

What was your very first job?    

Janitor at Magic Waters.        

Who are your role models?    

My best friend, Catie and my mom.        

What is your favorite quote or words to live by?    

I am a woman, phenomenally.  Phenomenal woman, that’s me.    -Maya Angelou        

What is the best advice you have ever received?    

Take your makeup off and wash your face every night, no matter what.   – My mom who is 69, but looks 49.        

What’s the last good book you’ve read?    

Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes        

What’s the last good movie you have seen?    

Bohemian Rhapsody        

What is your favorite TV show to binge watch?    

The Office        

What was the first concert you ever attended and what is the most    recent concert you have attended?    

First concert was Warped Tour when I was 15 and my dad had to drive  us. My friend and I made him wait in the car so people thought we were cool. Thanks, dad.        

Who is your celebrity crush?  

Joseph Gordon-Levitt        

Where is your favorite place to eat?    

My mom’s kitchen table        

What is your biggest pet peeve?    

When people chew loudly or talk with their mouth full.       

What might surprise people to learn about you?    

I’ve had multiple pet rats and they’re the sweetest things.       

What’s the next big thing coming up in your life that you are looking   forward to?    

My birthday in May!
