Tell us a little about your job at RVC.
I manage the Highway Construction Careers Training Program, pre-apprenticeship class to help folks break into the skilled-trades.
What motivates or inspires you?
My loved ones inspire me. Sunshine. I am pretty food motivated, as well.
What scares you?
Tornadoes and clowns scare me. If I was in a tornado with a clown, that would be the absolute worst.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to read, fish, play games, and hang with my family. A big hobby of mine is woodworking.
What was your very first job?
I worked as a farm hand at a llama farm.
Who are your role models?
My niece, Emma. She battled and beat cancer at the age of 6–she has been no evidence of disease for 2 years. She’s my hero.
Favorite quote or song lyric?

What is the best advice you have ever received?
“How you make people feel matters, so be a good person.” – My dad
What’s the last good book you’ve read?
The short story my wife wrote (unpublished).
What’s the last good movie you have seen?
A Quiet Place (2018). If you like suspense and don’t mind being tense for an hour and a half, watch this movie. Brilliant concept and great acting.
What is your favorite TV show to binge watch?
The Office (U.S.) Friends, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

If you could be best friends with a celebrity, who would it be?

Do you have any pets?
Our lovable pit-bull, LeRoy.
Where do you like to go or what do you like to do when you have a long weekend?
Love catching up on house projects and working in the garage. And anytime we can drive to my sister’s to hang with my nieces and nephews, is a great weekend.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
What is the food you can’t live without?
Cheese. Bread. Pie.
What might surprise people to learn about you?
I do not eat meat for ethical reasons. Been vegetarian since 2016.
What is your favorite board game?
Ticket to Ride
If you could be any character on a TV show, who would it be?
Do you play any sports?
Quite a few, but I recently picked up golf and can’t stop.
What’s your favorite thing about working at RVC?
Seeing my students gain skills and confidence in themselves over the course of the program. Such a cool transformation to witness.
What’s the next big thing coming up in your life that you are looking forward to?
My wife and I are expecting our first child at the end of the year.
